We all need help at difficult times in life

Most people come to therapy because they are in pain. There may be a relationship breakdown or disconnection, a painful change of life circumstance, sadness, depression, guilt and anxiety - these issues visit all of us at some point in our lives. As an experienced therapist, I have been helping people through these difficulties for the past 18 years.

The core of our work together will centre on strengthening and healing your realtionship with yourself.  This means looking at all the levels of self rejection and self criticism that may be operating and moving into new ways of being in the world with greater levels of self acceptance and self compassion. Aspects of therapy are also practical and may involve developing new ways of relating to others, improving romantic relationships, healing family bonds, solving problems, looking at your work life, and developing new skills which will enable you to create a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Equal emphasis on what is healthy and strong

A key aspect of my way of working is that I place an equal focus on what is strong, healthy and successful in your life. By acknowledging, articulating and building on what is working well, clients are enabled and empowered, not only to solve problems and gain new perspectives, but also to achieve higher levels of hope, resilience and confidence.
